Terms of service
In short. Hunting Apps is a research tool. You pay in credits for the work it does. You own what you put in and what you build. The research is an aid to your decision, not a promise that an idea will succeed.
1. Who we are and what this covers
Hunting Apps ("we", "us") is operated by Carlos Vitorino, in Portugal, at [email protected]. These terms are the agreement between you and us for the website at huntingapps.io, the app behind it, and the connections it offers to other tools (the service). By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
The service helps you find and test ideas for software. An AI agent searches the public web and other sources, reads what it finds, judges it, and writes hunts, candidates, verdicts, projects and build briefs. It can also push a build brief to a GitHub repository in your account, and it can be read from your own AI tools through an MCP connection.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you sign up for a company, you confirm you can bind it.
- Give accurate details and keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including access tokens you create for MCP connections. Revoke a token on the connections page if it leaks.
- One person gets one free starter allowance. We may withhold it, or remove it, if an account looks like a repeat: the same mailbox in another form, a disposable email domain, or many sign-ups from one network. This does not affect credits you paid for.
- You can close your account at any time from the account page. See the privacy policy for what that deletes.
3. Credits and payment
- Work in the service costs credits. Starter credits are free. More credits are sold in one-off packs at the prices shown on the billing page and on the pricing section of our home page. Nothing renews or charges you again unless you buy another pack.
- Credits do not expire. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and cannot be exchanged for money, except where a refund is due under the refund policy or the law.
- When a job starts, we set aside its maximum price from your balance. When it ends, we take what it used, within that maximum, and give back the rest. If a job fails or you cancel it, you get back everything set aside. A job that has started and ends normally is charged for the work done even if you do not like the result.
- Prices on the billing page include VAT or sales tax where it applies. Payment is taken by Creem, our merchant of record. Creem is the seller of record for the payment, collects and pays the tax, and sends your receipt. Its terms and privacy policy also apply to the payment.
- We can change prices and what an action costs in credits. A change applies to later purchases and later work, never to a pack you already bought or a job already started.
- If a refund or a reversed payment takes back credits you have already spent, your balance can go below zero until you add more.
- Credits are for you. Do not resell them or share an account to avoid paying.
4. Your content and what the service produces
"Your content" is what you type, upload or connect: ideas, notes, files, instructions and the like. It stays yours. You give us permission to store it and process it, including by sending it to the AI and search providers listed on the subprocessors page, only so that we can provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not sell it.
The results the service produces for you (verdicts, summaries, briefs, documents) are yours to use for any lawful purpose, including commercial use. Because they are generated, the same or a similar result can be produced for someone else, and we cannot promise a result is unique or free of third-party rights.
Public web pages the service reads are cached and may be shared between accounts to save cost. What you searched for and what you wrote about them is never shared.
You promise that you have the right to upload what you upload and that it does not break the law or anyone's rights.
5. AI output can be wrong
The service uses AI, and you are talking to software, not to a person. Models misread pages, miss competitors, get numbers wrong and can state wrong things with confidence. Search results and the sites behind them change. Grades, rulings, market estimates and verdicts are an informed starting point for your own decision. They are not legal, financial, tax or investment advice, and they do not promise that an idea will find customers or make money. Check what matters to you against the linked sources before you spend money or time on it.
The "rebuild a proven app" tools describe what an existing product does from its public pages. They do not copy, download or run that product. You are responsible for making sure that what you build does not infringe another party's copyright, trademark, patent or contract terms. Build your own version, with your own name, code and content.
6. Using the service
You agree to follow the acceptable use policy. We may rate-limit, pause or stop work that threatens the service, other users or third parties, and we may refuse a request that breaks that policy.
7. Other services you connect
GitHub: if you connect it, we ask for permission to create public repositories in your account and push the files you choose. We say this on the connection page before you agree. A pushed repository is created public. You can make it private on GitHub afterwards. You can disconnect at any time and revoke our access on GitHub.
MCP and AI tools: if you connect an AI tool through MCP, that tool can read your hunts, candidates and projects through the permissions you granted. What your AI tool then does with that data is governed by that tool's own terms. Revoke a connection from the connections page.
Sign in with Google or GitHub is governed by those providers' terms as well as these.
8. Our rights
We own the service, its software, design, names and logos. You get a personal, non-exclusive right to use it under these terms. Do not copy it, resell it, or try to extract its source code or its prompts. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.
9. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. It depends on search and AI providers we do not control. We may change or remove features. If we remove something you paid for in a way that costs you value, we will refund the unused credits it affects.
10. Suspension and ending
You can stop using the service whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy, puts others at risk, or where the law requires it. Where we can, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. If we close an account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the credits you paid for and have not used. If we close it for breaking these terms, we may keep the credits.
11. Our responsibility
The service is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties not stated here. We are not liable for lost profit, lost opportunity, or indirect or consequential loss, including loss from a decision you made on the strength of the research. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the event, or to 100 euros if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law: for death or personal injury, for fraud, for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer under mandatory law where you live.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Otherwise the courts of Portugal have jurisdiction. Please write to [email protected] first. Most problems get solved there. Consumers in Portugal can also use the Livro de Reclamações at livroreclamacoes.pt and a consumer dispute resolution centre.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For a change that matters, we email you or show a notice in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that date, you accept the new terms. If you do not, you can close your account and ask for a refund of unused paid credits.
14. Contact
